Nuggets' Jordan Hamilton suspended for throwing punch

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The league has suspended Nuggets forward Jordan Hamilton one game for throwing a punch at the Thunder's Steven Adams.

The play happened in the second half of the Thunder's 105-93 win on Tuesday. The league described the play as “throwing a punch at and making contact with the shoulder." Though some might disagree about it actually being a punch.

Adams seemed to incite Hamilton a bit with a hip check in the backcourt, to which the Nugget forward took exception. After a review, Hamilton was ejected for it.

While "punch" is definitely a bit strong, this is the league going by the letter of the law. Hamilton closed his fist and took a swing. So he'll sit the Nuggets' next game.

Hamilton is averaging 8.6 points and 4.1 rebounds this season.
