Rockets general manager Daryl Morey wants what he wants for Omer Asik and since he couldn't get it, he's taking his ball and going home. Houston called off trade talks entirely on Thursday, according to multiple reports.

Houston has ended talks on an Omer Asik trade and plan to keep him for now, league source tells Yahoo Sports.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) December 19, 2013
Houston has found too many teams leery of Asik's contract next season, and hasn't found a deal it wants.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) December 19, 2013
Houston GM Daryl Morey has also informed Asik's agent, Arn Tellem, that he's ended talks about a trade for his client, source tells Yahoo.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) December 19, 2013
So Happy Holidays to Omer Asik. Stuck in Houston in a situation he doesn't want because Houston overpaid with a $15 million poison pill in the third year (non-cap impactful) in order to sign him, then signed a better player at his position.
The question now is whether Houston will be able to get anything for Asik at the deadline and how Asik will respond to his situation. You have to think he and his agent are livid after Morey leaked heavily that a deal would be done by Thursday.
If Morey's going to resolve this situation, he may just have to take less than what he wants in return. That's not his M.O., but this situtations seems unique.
Either way, Asik's stuck in Houston for a while.
