Report: Jason Kidd calls out the Nets after Bulls loss

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Jason Kidd officially had enough with the Nets effort after Wednesday's loss to the Bulls, according to a report from ESPN New York.

Tired and upset with a lack of effort, Kidd's outburst came after the Nets dropped their fourth straight game, sources say. The first-year head coach said Monday after a 103-86 loss to Indiana that the Nets were becoming too comfortable with losing.

The frustration is mounting. According to league sources, after Kidd yelled at the team on Wednesday, Kevin Garnett stood up and vented his frustration before walking out to the showers. Multiple sources stressed Garnett backs Kidd and that the veteran's frustration has been building over some of his teammates' lack of fight after the Nets lost by 17 points for the second straight game.

Sources also said Garnett's walking out was viewed as him being one of the few Nets to care about the team's downward spiral.

The Nets had been preaching that they only needed to get to full strength to show what they have. Now that that's not happening because of Brook Lopez's injury, they need a new spark. So Kidd is going to try doing some yelling, I guess.

The Nets are now 9-19 after taking a beating at home to the Bulls on Christmas. And it's not just the record, but it's the often the way it appears. There's sometimes a general indifference with the team it seems.

At this point, it's about finding something. By the mercy of the East, the Nets are still well within the postseason hunt. But they eventually have to start winning a few games. So Jason Kidd is trying to rally them.
