Heat's LeBron James (groin, ankle) will play against Denver

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

The Miami Heat survived a road game on Saturday against the Portland Trail Blazers thanks to a huge effort by Chris Bosh, who finished with 37 points and 10 rebounds. With the Heat in Denver Monday night to face the Nuggets, the team doesn't know if they'll need that kind of effort out of Bosh again.

LeBron James, who missed the game against Portland because of groin and ankle injuries, was a game-time decision against the Nuggets on Monday, but will play. From ESPN.com:

LeBron James will be a game-time decision for the Miami Heat on Monday night against the Denver Nuggets.

James, who celebrates his 29th birthday on Monday, participated in the team's morning shootaround at Pepsi Center, though his activity was limited.

"LeBron did some, not all," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of the team's practice drills.

Saturday's win against the Blazers was James' first missed game of the season. He suffered his groin and ankle injuries in a loss to the Sacramento Kings Friday night in Sacramento. He finished with 33 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in the loss.

On the season, James is averaging 25.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists while shooting 59.2 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from 3-point range. The Miami Heat are 8-6 without James in the lineup since he joined the team in 2010.
