The Los Angeles Lakers were without point guard Jordan Farmar for almost the entire month of December. A torn hamstring kept Farmar out of action for 10 of the team's 15 games in December and he only played one minute on December 1 when he injured his hamstring. During Tuesday night's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Farmar tore his hamstring for the second time in a month.

According to the Los Angeles Lakers' press release, Farmar suffered a tear in the same hamstring but a different area of the tendon. He's expected to miss at least four weeks with this tear after missing three-and-a-half weeks with the previous tear.

Lakers guard Jordan Farmar had an ultrasound test and was examined by Dr. Luga Podesta this morning after injuring his left hamstring in last night's game versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Results show that Farmar has a tear in his left hamstring, which is expected to keep him out a minimum of four weeks. Although the hamstring tear is in the same leg, this tear is in a different location than the tear that Farmar suffered on December 1, which kept him out three-and-a-half weeks.

This is yet another blow to the health of the Lakers. Almost the entire backcourt on the Lakers' roster is injured right now. After returning for four games, Farmar will be back to joining Steve Blake (elbow), Kobe Bryant (knee), Steve Nash (back/hamstring), and Xavier Henry (knee) on the list of injuries keeping players off the court right now.

Farmar is averaging 8.7 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in his 22 games this season. He's started four of those games. He's shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from the 3-point line in his first season back in the NBA since spending the 2012-13 season playing in Turkey.
