This video was the scene of a regular season game on December 4 when the Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs were supposed to play a regular season game in Mexico City. A malfunction in a generator in the arena caused the building and playing floor to be filled with smoke, causing the game to be postponed and rescheduled for a later date. It was always unlikely the game would be played in Mexico City once it was rescheduled.
The league announced on Monday the game will be played on April 8 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was orginally scheduled as a home game for the Wolves, despite being played in Mexico City. It's the only game slated as a home game in three contests for the Wolves, despite two other contests being played in San Antonio.
This rescheduling of the game will create a home-home back-to-back for the Wolves, facing the Spurs on April 8 and the Chicago Bulls on April 9. For the Spurs, it takes away a stretch in which they would have played one game in six days into playing two during that time. They'll have less rest at the end of the season as they gear up for the playoffs.
