Deron Williams in walking boot, to be re-evaluated later this week

And just when they had a little three-game winning streak to feel good about...

The Nets announced Deron Williams is in a walking boot after he had PRP (platelet rich plasma therapy) and cortisone injections in his troublesome ankle.

He will be re-evaluated later in the week.

Williams has missed 12 games already this season because of a bothersome left ankle. The Nets play the Warriors on Wednesday and the Heat on Friday and are at the Raptors on Saturday. Then they have a four-day break, so it could be likely Williams would target next Thursday's game against the Hawks to return.

Williams, 29, is averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 assists in 22 games this season.
