You may have seen Kevin Durant's 48-point effort in Tuesday night's Oklahoma City Thunder loss to the Utah Jazz fall short. Durant tied a career-high in field goal attempts with 34 and got to the free throw line 19 times as he tried desperately to overcome flat production from his teammates in Utah. We saw incredible shots, big dunks, and a lot of trips to the line account for his 48, tying his own NBA season high he had Saturday night.
But it wasn't enough for the Thunder to get the win over the Jazz. Mostly because Gordon Hayward had himself a game as well. He didn't quite match Durant's total production but his 37 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists helped keep the Jazz above water throughout the game.
Hayward had 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting in the fourth quarter to close out the 11-point victory.
