Back in the preseason, Josh Smith gave the Detroit Pistons a victory by using one favorable bounce off the rim before rattling home a winning 3-point shot at the buzzer against the Minnesota Timberwolves. For the first time in the regular season Saturday night, Smith was able to knock down the winning shot. Kyle Singler inbounded the ball to Smith, who drove it right at Channing Frye before hitting the tough runner off the glass.
It capped a crazy last minute of the game which saw a P.J. Tucker 3-pointer hit, followed by a 3-pointer from Smith, three clutch free throws by Gerald Green after Smith fouled him on a 3-point attempt, and then Smith's winning drive. Green missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
