Matt Moore joins me for a late Monday afternoon podcast to figure out which teams are still within striking distance of their preseason goals. Before we get into that, Saturday's games saw 13 of the 18 teams playing on a back-to-back. It got us wondering how the NBA could realistically change the schedule and number of games scheduled to make it easier and a better product. What is the correct number of games for each team to play? How could this scheduling change with the next television deal? What is the most realistic change the league could make without affecting player contracts and team revenue?
Then we get to playing a game called Dead or Alive. Have the bottom feeders in the East accomplished their preseason goals? Are the New York Knicks dead in comparison to their team's preseason goals? Can the Brooklyn Nets still call themselves a success based on their preseason expectations? Will the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, and Cleveland Cavaliers have success within their reach at the end of the season? What about the Western Conference? Are the Los Angeles Clippers alive with their hopes of playing for the title? Are the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers dead because injuries?
We discuss all of that, plus office life, good acting, and preview tonight's games.
