VIDEO: Paul George says Heat can't beat Pacers with homecourt

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

On "Jim Rome on Showtime," airing Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime, Pacers star Paul George told Rome that the Pacers don't see Miami being able to beat them in a playoff series if they have homecourt.

"No, we don't (see the Heat beating us four times a home)," George says. "I mean we know how well we play at home. We were one of the best teams in the postseason last year in defending our home court. We just know how big homecourt advantage is when it comes to the postseason. That's one of our big goals for this year, to lock up the first seed so we can play at home throughout the playoffs."

George also says he can see himself winning MVP, especially because of what his team is doing.

The Pacers have the best winning percentage in the league, and were the second team to crack 30 wins this season (behind San Antonio who has played more games). George is second among all frontcourt players for All-Star starter behind LeBron James, ahead of even Carmelo Anthony.

Finally, George tells what it's like to watch Larry Bird knock down 15 jumpers in a row and whether he can beat him in a game of H-O-R-S-E.

To see the full interview with George as well as a visit from Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love, tune in to Showtime Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
