Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said Wednesday that he would like one last fine from outgoing NBA Commissioner David Stern, who is due to retire Feb. 1.
"We talk about it all the time," Cuban said. "I'm going to have one final fine before he leaves."
Mission accomplished. The league announced that Cuban had been fined $100,000 for confronting and directing inappropriate language towards officials following the Mavs 129-127 loss to the Clippers.
Cuban, for his part, seems to be taking it all in stride.
I couldnt let the commish go without a proper farewell. Its been a fun 14 years of trying to create change and donating to the donut fund !— Mark Cuban (@mcuban) January 19, 2014
Cuban, as has been his custom, plans to match the fine with a donation to charity.
