Knicks' Pablo Prigioni to return Monday vs. Nets

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

New York Knicks point guard Pablo Prigioni will return Monday vs. the Brooklyn Nets, and coach Mike Woodson said Sunday the 35-year-old could start alongside Raymond Felton.

Mike Woodson said he's considering starting Pablo Prigioni in his return to the lineup Monday in an all-point-guard backcourt with Raymond Felton.

Prigioni will make his return from a broken toe in the Knicks' big showdown against the Nets in a MLK Day Matinee at the Garden at 2:30 p.m. Prigioni has missed the last 16 games after breaking his toe on Dec. 16.

Woodson liked how the Prigioni-Felton starting tandem looked down the stretch last season, and that would give him a chance to move Carmelo Anthony from small forward to power forward, where he played much of last season. Andrea Bargnani, who has been fairly inconsistent, would go back to the bench.

Prigioni is averaging 3.9 points and 3.2 assists per game this season. The move to the smaller lineup is one many Knicks fans have clamored for this season. Prigioni is one of the few Knicks with a better plus-minus on-court than off, and Bargnani has been one of the worst despite a decent offensive season.

Prigioni is set to return in the same game Nets guard Deron Williams returns from an ankle injury.
