Lakers' Steve Nash missed practice Monday with a tweaked back

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

The Los Angeles Lakers haven't been able to get much out of Steve Nash since trading two first round draft picks and two second round draft picks for him back in the summer of 2012. That was the summer that was supposed to bring the Lakers back to a championship level and instead they had just one frustrating campaign of Dwight Howard and 56 total games out of Nash in 1.5 seasons.

They were hoping to get Nash back on the court soon but he missed practice because of a tweaked back and now will have to wait until Thursday to see if he can return to the practice floor.

Nash played in 50 games with the team last season due to various injuries, most notably a fractured tibia early in November of 2012. So far this season, hamstring injuries and back problems have allowed him to play in only six games. He's averaging 6.7 points and 4.8 rebounds in 22.5 minutes. He's made only 26.1 percent of his 46 total shot attempts.
