Rockets' James Harden (thumb) out against the Spurs

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The Rockets have a big one against San Antonio tonight. But they'll have to do it without James Harden.

Harden is out for tonight's game because of a bruised thumb he suffered Saturday against the Grizzlies. He's listed as day-to-day.

This will be the seventh game of the season Harden has missed, as he's battled a few other minor injuries including an ankle sprain.

Without Harden, expect the Rockets to possibly start both their point guards, with Jeremy Lin and Patrick Beverley assuming duties in the backcourt. The Rockets could also go with Francisco Garcia.

Harden, 24, is averaging 24.7 points, 5.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 40 games this season.
