Bulls' Joakim Noah fined $15,000 for tirade after Monday ejection

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

There are a lot of things you can do on an NBA court that won't get you in trouble with the league office. Yelling expletives at the officials as you're being ejected from a game and needing to be led off the court is not one of them. Chicago Bulls' center Joakim Noah was ejected Monday night against the Sacramento Kings and unleashed a string of choice words on the referees before being escorted to the tunnel.

That move will cost Noah $15,000, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah has been fined $15,000 for verbally abusing the officials upon his ejection, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 7:40 remaining in the third quarter of the Bulls' 99-70 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Feb. 3, at Sleep Train Arena.

The Bulls lost the game by 29 points. Noah finished with four points and four rebounds in just 19 minutes of play.
