Denver Nuggets guard Nate Robinson told the Denver Post he plans to return in time for the start of next season and that he intends to exercise his player option for $2.1 million next season.

Robinson plans to be around at the start of next season. The business end of that means he'll exercise his player option to do so. Robinson signed a two-year deal with the Nuggets last summer, and that second year will pay him $2.1 million in 2014-15.

Asked if he would be ready for training camp in the fall, Robinson said, "Yeah, for sure."

via Nuggets' Nate Robinson plans to return to team next season - The Denver Post.

Robinson suffered a torn ACL in January. Earlier this week he was taking flat-foot threes post-practice with the Nuggets with no noticeable limp.

It makes sense that he'd exercise the option (though he can always change his mind between now and July 1st) coming off the injury. The market will be diminished for him on account of it. Robinson provides good bench scoring and can actually defend much better than he's given credit for.

But the money side is a little tricky for the Nuggets. They're locked into $64.6 million next season if all options are declined. Add on Robinson's $2.1 and that's $66.7 million giving the Nuggets no wiggle room to improve their roster without a trade, and that's before draft pick signees.

Management is extremely high on Robinson, however. They considered his signing a huge bargain deal for him an like his locker room presence. Veteran forward Darrell Arthur, who coach Brian Shaw has called the best defender on the team, also has a team option for next season. Arthur told CBSSports.com this week he hasn't thought about the decision on his option yet.
