The Portland Trail Blazers announced Thursday that forward LaMarcus Aldridge, injured in Portland's loss to San Antonio Wednesday had an MRI that confirmed a back contusion. That's good news in that nothing was torn or fractured, but he will miss time.
Blazers say LaMarcus Aldridge (back contusion) is expected to miss games vs. Pelicans and Warriors before being reevaluated— Ben Golliver (@BenGolliver) March 13, 2014
Here's video of the injury.
The Blazers are in free fall, having lost nine of their last 11. Losing Aldridge is tough, going up against two Western Conference teams. This is going to be a really difficult test for Portland.
Meanwhile, more bad news as another MRI confirmed a hip strain for backup guard Mo Williams. That's two veterans with big roles for Portland. It's been tough since January for Portland. And it's about to get tougher.
