Eye on Basketball Podcast: March Madness is in full effect

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Ethan Sherwood Strauss joins me for the second time this week to discuss the NBA Draft and some prospects you should keep an eye on. Ethan is big on Kyle Anderson from UCLA and thinks Doug McDermott is likely to be a bust. Is his theory that a lack of blocks and steals from McDermott at Creighton mean he's not athletic enough to matter in the NBA? What kind of player should you be expecting him to be at the next level? Is Rodney Hood from Duke going to be really good? Is Jabari Parker ready to shed some weight and be a star?

There is this idea amongst some fans and analysts that free throw shooting is easy and isn't worked on by players. Is that unbelievably incorrect? Is there some type of free throw gene people have like Ethan theorizes? Is it just that we can't imagine the environment they're shooting them in? Can free throw shooting and body control/making layups truly improve at a significant rate during a player's career?

We discuss all of this, plus the Houston Rockets as a playoff foe, curious tattoos, and much more.
