As he caught the ball and planted, he immediately fell in pain and then hopped off the floor toward the locker room. The Nuggets' power forward didn't return to the game and has been diagnosed with a torn right ACL.

The Nuggets announced Hickson is out for the remainder of the 2013-14 season and will have surgery at a later date. From the team:

Denver Nuggets forward J.J. Hickson has been diagnosed with a torn right anterior cruciate ligament, General Manager/Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly announced today.

Hickson suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Friday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

A date for surgery is pending and he will miss the remainder of this season.
