Nets' Jorge Gutierrez fined $15,000 for flagrant foul

By Royce Young | NBA writer

On Friday, the Nets signed guard Jorge Gutierrez to a multi-year contract, keeping him on the roster after a few successful 10-day stints.

And now he can use some of his new money to pay the fine he just got from the NBA.

Gutierrez has been fined $15,000 for a flagrant two foul he committed on Wednesday against Cody Zeller of the Bobcats. Gutierrez was ejected for the play and after review, the call was upheld.

On the play, Gutierrez committed a hard foul on Zeller, essentially tackling him to the floor.

Gutierrez has appeared in five games for the Nets, averaging 3.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 13.4 minutes.
