This is the second torn labrum for him in two seasons. Last year he suffered a tear in his left shoulder. He didn't have surgery last year, either. He managed to come back and have a brilliant season this year despite the Knicks' troubles. Anthony has an opt out to become a free agent this summer and that has to factor into the decision.
But overall, there's just no point in Anthony playing. The season is over for the Knicks. Big changes are coming, and one way or another, he and the Knicks need him healthy so they can make decisions about their future together.
