Update Wendesday 2:09 p.m.: The league has upheld the technical, Griffin will serve the suspension Wednesday night vs. the Blazers. Griffin didn't travel with the team to Portland anyway.
Griffin swung his arm around trying to block Timofey Mozgov on a spin move and wound up hitting him in the face. The tech is relevant because players are suspended for one game after their 16th tech. Griffin would have to miss Wednesday's game vs. Portland if the league does not rescind the tech.
With the Clippers' win Tuesday, a Thunder loss to Detroit and a Clippers win over Portland would move the Clippers to the second seed. That would mean a matchup with either Dallas or Memphis based on the outcome of the Grizzlies-Mavs game Wednesday, but more importantly would give them home court in a potential second round matchup with the Thunder.
