Phil Jackson told reporters Sunday that he has met with TNT commentator and former Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs guard Steve Kerr about the Knicks' vacancy at head coach.

Kerr has long been considered the front-runner for the position, even before Jackson took over as head of basketball operations in April. He's indicated in the past he's looking to coach and that he anticipated meeting with Jackson.

Kerr possesses the necessary knowldege of the triangle offense that Jackson wants in his coach, will defer to Jackson's wishes, and can provide a good face for the franchise as a media savvy former player with an aw-shucks attitude. This seems to be a slam dunk, if Kerr wants the job.
