As the ripple effect created by Donald Sterling's alleged racist comments continues to spread -- even Donald Trump has weighed in -- Sterling's estranged wife released a statement Sunday to KABC-TV in Los Angeles condemning the sentiment.

"Our family is devastated by the racist comments made by my estranged husband," Rochelle Sterling said in a statement. "My children and I do not share these despicable views or prejudices. We will not let one man's small mindedness poison the spirit of the fans and accomplishments of the team in the city we love. We are doing everything in our power to stand by and support our Clippers team."

Though Donald Sterling was not at Sunday's Game 4 between the Clippers and Warriors, Rochelle did sit courtside. She did not grant ESPN an interview but instead prepared a statement to be read over the air.

"I do not condone those statements that you heard," the statement read, in part. "I do not believe in them. I am not a racist. I never have been, I never will be. The team is the most important thing to my family."

She went on to say that she wasn't sure if it was in fact Sterling's voice on the tape., though she hadn't listened to the complete audio.

Sterling is currently under investigation by the NBA and its new commissioner, Adam Silver.

"The core of the investigation is understanding whether the tape is authentic, interviewing Mr. Sterling, potentially interviewing the woman, as well, and understanding the context in which it was recorded," Silver said Saturday.
