Eye on Basketball Podcast: Bye Mr. Pringles, Hello Mr. Unreliable

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Matt Moore joins me on today's podcast to discuss the resignation of Mike D'Antoni. D'Antoni stepped down with one more year on his contract and a club option for 2015-16 that was not going to be picked up by the Los Angeles Lakers. Where do the Lakers go from here with their coaching candidates? Will the big names come out right away? Will they be able to poach a current coach? Will they experiment with a European coach?

The Oklahoman called Kevin Durant "Mr. Unreliable" in a section of the paper today. How fair is it to peg him with that? What is the biggest reason for his inefficient scoring? Is it the defense and mentality of Tony Allen slowing him down? Is Durant in his own head? Is it both scenarios? How do the Oklahoma City Thunder get back and win this series? Are we going to see them fall too early for the second straight postseason?

We discuss all of this, plus the Indiana Pacers' trying to survive against the Atlanta Hawks, the Los Angeles Clippers trying to close out the messy Golden State Warriors, and ice cream cones.
