Pacers' Lance Stephenson, Roy Hibbert fined for flopping

By James Herbert | NBA writer

The Indiana Pacers' Lance Stephenson and Roy Hibbert have been fined $10,000 and $5,000, respectively, for violating the NBA's anti-flopping rules in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, the league announced on Thursday.

Stephenson's violation, which occurred in the fourth quarter of the 93-90 Pacers win, saw the guard drop to the ground when Miami Heat forward LeBron James brushed against him, trying to bait the officials into thinking he was hit in the face. It was his second violation of the playoffs -- the other one was quite similar and also involved James -- hence the more expensive fine.

Hibbert's violation, also in the fourth quarter on Wednesday, saw the 7-foot-2 center leap into the air and fall under the basket when Heat point guard Mario Chalmers put a forearm into his back. Neither fall was convincing.
