San Antonio 110, Miami 95: Spurs lead NBA Finals 1-0

Here's what we learned on Thursday, as the San Antonio Spurs were able to outlast the Miami Heat with a late run as LeBron James cramped up. After James scored a layup with 4:10 left in the fourth quarter to cut the Spurs' lead to two, he wasn't able to return to the defensive side of the court and had to leave the game. The Spurs then closed the game on a 16-3 run to close out the 15-point victory.

• We learned it was hot in the AT&T Center. At one point, Doris Burke of ESPN reported that it was over 90 degrees. Both teams dealt with it relatively well, considering this was a problem all night long. The problem for the Heat was LeBron couldn't withstand the cramping and had to leave the game at a pivotal point.

Danny Green had a huge fourth quarter and opened up the flood gates for the Spurs. He had 11 points in the fourth quarter on 4-of-4 shooting. He had three big 3-pointers and a dunk in transition that fired up the crowd. He was part of a 36-point fourth quarter explosion and nearly matched the Heat's fourth quarter total (17 points) by himself.

• The Spurs hit 13 of 25 from 3-point range, which was started off by Manu Ginobili's 3-of-3 start from downtown to really kickstart their offense.

• The Heat did a fantastic job of forcing turnovers by the Spurs and scoring off of those turnovers. San Antonio had 23 turnovers and gave up 28 points off of them, but they countered by forcing 18 turnovers by the Heat and scoring 27 points off of those mistakes.

• The Spurs had 30 assists on 40 made baskets in this game. The Heat had just 16 assists on 37 buckets.

Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili combined for 35 points and 19 assists. They just shredded this Heat defense all night long.
