2014 NBA Draft: Milwaukee Bucks get an A for picking Jabari Parker at No. 2

By Eye on Basketball staff

The Milwaukee Bucks selected Duke forward Jabari Parker with the No. 2 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

The 6-8, 235-pound Parker averaged 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Blue Devils, who finished 26-9 and lost to Mercer in the Round of 64.

The Bucks will get a skilled scorer who can play both forward positions but probably projects more as a power forward long-term because there are doubts about his ability to defend small forwards. He's likely the favorite for Rookie of the Year, and Milwaukee needs someone who can put points on the board.

The Chicago native said the day before the draft that this is where he expected to go, and this was also reportedly where he wanted to go, even though Cleveland had the No. 1 overall pick.

Dante Exum might've been a nice selection here, with even higher upside, but Parker was the safe, obvious choice with Andrew Wiggins off the board. He has a chance to be an All-Star eventually.
