2014 NBA Draft: Boston Celtics get a C+ for picking Marcus Smart at No. 6

By James Herbert | NBA writer

The Boston Celtics selected Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart with the No. 6 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

The 6-4, 210 pound Smart averaged 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in 2013-14 for OSU, which finished 21-13 and lost to Gonzaga in the NCAA Round of 64.

Smart served a three-game suspension last season after getting into an altercation with a fan during a game at Texas Tech.

It'll be interesting to see how he fits next to Rajon Rondo in the backcourt in Boston, if they're both still around by the time the season starts. Smart should be able to guard point guards and shooting guards.

Marcus Smart averaged 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in 2013-14 for OK-State. (USATSI)
