The Indiana Pacers want to retain unrestricted free agent Lance Stephenson. Despite all his warts, and the ear-blowing and all, he was a fantastic player for them last year, is healthy, athletic and young. So they're going all out to keep him as free agency hits.

To the point where they have produced a movie of his life with the Pacers. They're literally showing a movie of his time in Indianapolis to him, his friends and family, in a movie theater and the whole thing.

Sometime shortly after midnight Tuesday, Lance Stephenson will be seated with his family and friends in a movie theater. The lights will go down and the 'Born Ready' life story will flash before Stephenson's eyes on the big screen.

Inside the entertainment complex based in suburban Indianapolis, the Pacers' commitment begins in earnest where a private party will be held and a love letter set to moving pictures will play with the hopes of keeping Stephenson. The movie will feature moments from when Stephenson arrived in Indiana to the point he is now, a potential Eastern Conference All-Star and a key figure in a core that can compete for a title. After midnight, however, the real picture of Stephenson's future will take shape.

I have so many questions.

Who did they get to produce and direct this thing? Was it McG? Larry Bird seems like a McG guy. Tell me it was McG.

Did they have art direction?

Did it show the part where he made the choke sign at LeBron James? Or the ear-blowing moment? I won't get into some of the much uglier off-court issues which I assume were missing.

Did they get special merchandise, like the theaters do? Was there a "Born Ready for Diabetes" special jumbo-sized soda cup? How about a Born Ready popcorn bucket? You have to capitalize on the merchandise. Everyone knows that's where the money is at.

Was it in 3-D? I bet it was in 3-D. Lance seems like a dude who would love 3-D.

The Pacers do have a tough decision to make with Stephenson. He's going to get some crazy offers in free agency, and they have to determine exactly how much is too much for the temperamental triple-double threat.
