In an effort to shore up their depth in the frontcourt, the Portland Trail Blazers contacted the representatives of free agent forward Josh McRoberts and established that both side have interest, league sources informed CSNNW.com.
McRoberts, 27, is attractive to Portland due to his toughness, playmaking ability and shooting range. He's seen as a no-brainer fit for this team and we're told, “he's fond of Portland.”
McRoberts, 27, averaged 8.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season for Charlotte.
For the Blazers, he'd bring a valuable skill off the bench as both a traditional and stretch four. He's an underrated passer, which will fit nicely in the Blazer's offensive system, and a tough-nosed defender, which they also need. He's not a post player, but can work in smallball lineups next to LaMarcus Aldridge at center in a high-low combination.
