Free agent Brian Roberts has agreed to a two-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets worth more than $5.5 million, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Roberts will be a reserve behind Kemba Walker. He averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 assists in 23.2 minutes per game for the New Orleans Pelicans last season, shooting 42 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range.

If Charlotte elects not to bring back Luke Ridnour, the 28-year-old is a bit of a downgrade. He can run the pick and roll, but his decision-making is questionable and he's not the most efficient point guard.

The Hornets have had a strange offseason, losing Josh McRoberts and signing Marvin Williams. They no longer have the financial flexibility to make a big splash with someone like Lance Stephenson, so they'll be hoping for internal improvement and production from rookie Noah Vonleh next year.
