First of all, this is a pretty cool Photoshop effort by whoever created it. Secondly, I think it's safe to say Lance Stephenson is over being on the Indiana Pacers and ready to embrace the Charlotte Hornets. After declining a five-year, $44 million contract offer from the Pacers this offseason, Stephenson eventually accepted a three-year, $27 million deal with the Hornets to join their promising young core.
Stephenson has a tumultuous end to his time with the Pacers, after four years with the organization to start his career. The Pacers took a chance on him in the second round of the 2010 draft, and eventually helped develop and hone his talents in a very good two-way player the past two seasons. Stephenson was often one of the most productive players on the team in terms of points, rebounds, and assists. But his antics against the Miami Heat in the 2014 Eastern Conference finals drew a lot of ire, including Larry Bird telling Stephenson to essentially knock it off.
The antics inlcuded a lot of trash talking to LeBron James, and even blowing in his ear at one point in the series. Eventually, the Heat won and moved on to the NBA Finals where they lost to the San Antonio Spurs. That series possibly cost Stephenson suitors or trust from the Pacers' organization. Or perhaps his free agency would have played out the exact same way it did with a Pacers franchise very conscientious of their spending and the possible luxury tax penalties that come with it.
Regardless, he moved on to the Hornets' organization and his uniform from the Indiana days has burned away. At least he can poke fun at himself still:
