Eye on Basketball Podcast: The Donald Sterling debacle

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

The EOBPod is back after a hiatus and joining us on this episode is Dan Woike of the Orange County Register. Dan is the Los Angeles Clippers' beat writer for the OC Register and has been submersed in the Donald Sterling case as it goes on. So what exactly is going on with the case? Is it possible we see this bleed into training camp? Will the league take over once again if we hit the September 15 deadline? Will the players actually boycott if Sterling isn't completely removed by the time the season starts? Could Doc Rivers end up quitting?

Speaking of the Clippers, how has their offseason been in terms of actual basketball? Why didn't they address their defensive issues? Is Doc convinced he can coach the current group into being a defensive unit? Is Contract Year DeAndre Jordan going to save the defense? Will Jared Dudley bounce back or is he on the decline? Why did they give such a committment to Spencer Hawes as the backup center? Will they be a suped up version of "we're just going to outscore you every night"?

We discuss all of this, plus how to duck out of Team USA responsibilities, TV show recommendations, and much more.
