Stephen Curry on who's better offensively, him or LeBron: 'Me'

By James Herbert | NBA writer

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry sounded rather confident in his own abilities when he appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday. Patrick had a bit of fun with the interview, asking him who's better offensively between him and LeBron James.

A transcript:

Who's the better offensive player, you or LeBron?

A better offensive player, me or LeBron? That's the first time I've ever been asked that question. Me.

Gotta be, right?

I don't know. I'd assume you would think [that]. You're a pure shooter. He can score, you can, too, but I think that, you know what, the correct answer is probably that LeBron is a better scorer but I think you're the better shooter. How's that?

Yeah, I don't know. 'Cause he obviously demands a lot of attention on the floor, but I like to say I can distribute, get my teammates involved and be a playmaker as well.

What about points? What if I said, 'You go out and score as many as you want in a game, and LeBron goes out?' Who scores more?

I'd like to say my shot would help me in that situation 'cause if I get a double-team, I can hopefully shoot from farther out.

I'll take James and his speed, size, strength and ability to play every position, but Curry is right up there. His 3-point range and ability to launch off the dribble combined with his court vision and ballhandling ability means he's one of the rare players who forces opposing teams to alter their defensive principles. You can't fault a competitor of his caliber for saying no one's better on offense.

The quote made the rounds on the Internet, and Curry had this to say:
