After losing their previous two games, the Kings built an early lead against the Blazers and remained in control through much of a lackluster game.
Ron Artest added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Kings (5-3). Brad Miller had 11 points and eight rebounds after missing two games with an injured finger.
Blazers rookie Brandon Roy scored 16 points -- all in the second half. Travis Outlaw added 12 points and Stephen Graham 10.
Martin, the Kings' leading scorer in the preseason, made his first five shots, including three 3-pointers and all four free throws in scoring 17 points for Sacramento, which built a 46-39 halftime lead.
Sacramento played once again without starting point guard Mike Bibby, who is expected to miss at least the first week of the regular season with a thumb injury.
Zach Randolph sat out the game for Portland (2-6) after playing 45 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Seattle.
The Kings open the regular season Wednesday in Dallas, while Portland plays the same night in Seattle.
