Lakers 101, Kings 97

LAS VEGAS -- Ronny Turiaf and Andrew Bynum each scored 18 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the Sacramento Kings 101-97 on Friday night.

Turiaf, who was 5-of-7 from the field, had eight rebounds, while Bynum, who was 7-of-10 from the field, had seven.

Also for the Lakers, who finished 3-4 in the preseason, Derek Fisher added 15 points with five assists. Kobe Bryant did not make the trip due to a sprained right wrist.

For Sacramento (3-5), John Salmons and Kevin Martin each scored 22 points. Francisco Garcia added 16. Martin also had seven rebounds.

The Kings led 82-76 with 9:48 left in the game, but the Lakers went on a 10-0 run and took the lead on a Coby Karl 3-pointer with 7:43 remaining. Karl added 10 points. Los Angeles never trailed again, building the advantage to six points twice in the final four minutes.

The Lakers outscored the Kings in the paint, 50-38. There were 10 lead changes and 14 ties. Los Angeles shot 47 percent from the field, while Sacramento hit 41 percent of its shots.

The Lakers open the season Tuesday against Houston in Los Angeles. Sacramento opens at New Orleans on Wednesday.
