MOBILE, Ala. -- David West scored 22 points, Peja Stojakovic added 14 and the New Orleans Hornets were 9-of-16 from 3-point range in their 100-80 exhibition victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday at the University of South Alabama.

New Orleans wrapped up the preseason with a 7-0 mark, while the Heat (1-5) will finish their exhibition schedule Friday night in San Antonio.

New Orleans point guard Chris Paul had 13 assists and six points, Morris Peterson and Devin Brown each scored 12 points, and Rasual Butler added 11. Rookie Michael Beasley led the Heat with 14 points, Shawn Marion added 12, and Dwyane Wade had 11.

New Orleans had an edge in second-chance points throughout the game, including a 11-4 margin in the third quarter en route to a 17-point cushion.

With a band of screaming fans throughout the night, one of the loudest cheers came at the 3:55 mark of the third when Wade broke away for the easy dunk. Wade left the game late in the third quarter and iced down his left knee the rest of the night.

It was the first preseason game in the Mobile area since 2001.
