With the fourth pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Bobcats selected Cody Zeller out of Indiana.

Zeller was heralded in the beginning of the college season but quickly fell in draft stock after having a good but ultimately disappointing sophomore season. After his freshman year, some thought the big man might be able to go No. 1 in the 2013 draft, but that faded away over the course of a season in which he didn't dominate. Instead, some wondered if he'd even make it into the top 10 before the Bobcats surprised everybody with this selection.

Word got out over the past couple of days that GM Rich Cho was high on grabbing Zeller but had to convince ownership that the fourth pick was OK for this type of player. He joins a young team, much like his college teammate Victor Oladipo, that has Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Bismack Biyombo and Kemba Walker as its young core. Just two years ago, Charlotte had the worst regular season in NBA history but turned it around somewhat with 21 wins last season.

Zeller is a stretch-4 type of power forward who likes to face up and get out in transition. He can also play some center, which will give the Bobcats a lot of versatility moving forward. His detractors say he's not a physical player and will struggle defensively and with rebounding, but he can add a lot of offense for a team that struggled to score the last couple of years.

The Bobcats currently don't have any other picks in this draft.
