2014 NBA Draft: Boston Celtics get a C+ for picking Marcus Smart at No. 6
With the No. 6 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics selected Marcus Smart out of Oklahoma State.
The 6-4, 210 pound Smart averaged 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in 2013-14 for OSU, which finished 21-13 and lost to Gonzaga in the NCAA Round of 64.
Smart served a three-game suspension last season after getting into an altercation with a fan during a game at Texas Tech.
Boston Celics: Marcus Smart: C+: A parachute in case of Rondo trade. Might be a SG who can't hit 3s. But strong as an ox defensively.— Matt Moore CBS (@MattMooreCBS) June 27, 2014
It'll be interesting to see how he fits next to Rajon Rondo in the backcourt in Boston, if they're both still around by the time the season starts. Smart should be able to guard point guards and shooting guards.
