For the first time, the NBA is holding a show to announce the winners of its major awards. The show is set for Monday at 9 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TNT. Toronto Raptors global ambassador Drake will handle the hosting duties. Here's how to watch the festivities.

How to Watch

  • What: TNT NBA Awards Show
  • When: Monday, June 26, 9 p.m. ET
  • Where: New York
  • TV: TNT
  • Live stream: NBA.com/NBAawards

As for the awards, there are six main honors up for grabs: MVP, Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Coach of the Year, Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the Year. All six were narrowed down to three contenders last month, with the snub of LeBron James from the MVP race generating the most debate.

Ahead of the show, here's a look at all six awards, including predictions on who will take them home. As a reminder, all of the votes were submitted before the postseason, so the playoff performance (or lack thereof) from any of these players has no bearing on who will win.

Notable NBA awards and nominees:

The 2016-17 MVP race was one of the closest and most entertaining we've seen in some time, with all three of the finalists, as well as LeBron James, making strong cases to take home the league's top honor.

Prediction: Russell Westbrook

I think Westbrook's brilliant campaign, in which he single-handedly led the Thunder to the playoffs while averaging a triple double (and setting all kinds of records in the process), will be too much to overlook.

While the MVP race was among the best ever, the ROY race was the polar opposite, as the only Class of 2016 rookie to really stand out was Bucks second-round pick Malcolm Brogdon. The real debate for this award is whether Joel Embiid can win ROY while only playing 31 games, as he was far and away the best rookie last season, but once again missed a lot of time.

Prediction: Malcolm Brogdon

I'm going with the Bucks point guard, as I don't think voters will reward Embiid for playing less than half the season.

This race featured some familiar names, as Williams took home the award in 2015 while Iguodala was the runner-up last season. They will face some stiff competition from Gordon, who had a strong season off the bench in Houston.

Prediction: Eric Gordon

Look for Gordon to take home his first sixth man trophy after a stellar campaign for the Rockets in which he helped power one of the league's best offenses.

  • Coach of the Year: Mike D'Antoni, Gregg Popovich, Erik Spoelstra

As is the case every season with Coach of the Year, the debate comes down to whether you think the award should go to a coach who takes a good team and makes it great, or a coach who takes a bad or young team and makes it good.

Prediction: Mike D'Antoni

This probably comes down to D'Antoni and Spoelstra, as the two split the NBCA Coach of the Year award. I think D'Antoni will get the nod for his work revitalizing the Rockets in his first year in charge.

The Most Improved Player is another fascinating debate, as all three of these youngsters had fantastic seasons, and are an absolute joy to watch.

Prediction: Giannis Antetokounmpo

While both Gobert and Jokic were awesome, Antetokounmpo's ability to take over games and produce highlight reel plays on both ends of the floor will give him the edge.

  • Defensive Player of the Year: Rudy Gobert, Draymond Green, Kawhi Leonard

There were no surprises with the finalists here, as this trio pretty clearly represents the three most dominant defensive presences in the league.

Prediction: Draymond Green

Green is the league's most versatile defender, and controls one of the league's best defenses. After coming up short two years in a row, he'll finally be recognized as the league's best defender.

Notable single play awards and nominees:

In addition, the league will also be handing out awards for single plays, including Dunk of the Year, Block of the Year, Assist of the Year, Game Winner of the Year.

Prediction: Victor Oladipo

Oladipo's combination of athleticism and creativity, while still bringing the power makes his effort the Dunk of the Year.

Prediction: Kristaps Porzingis

All of these were sick, but the Porzingis play was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. It looked too cool not to win, to be honest.

Prediction: Draymond Green/Steph Curry

OK, this was the easiest one. Fine efforts by Jokic and CP3, but nothing is touching that double alley-oop from Draymond and Steph.

Prediction: Russell Westbrook

The deep triple to win it at the buzzer on the day he set a new NBA record for triple-doubles? Yeah, nothing is topping that.
