Andrew Bynum to debut tonight against the Celtics
Andrew Bynum hasn't played since signing with the Pacers in January. But he will be making his debut tonight against the Celtics.
But Bynum is set to make his Pacers debut Tuesday against the Celtics, coach Frank Vogel told reporters.
Bynum said Sunday in Dallas that he hopes to be "cleared to play next week," while Vogel added, "We'll see after (Sunday's) game goes and then we'll probably meet about it (Monday) and try to come up with a firmer plan."
After Bynum was waived Jan. 7 by the Bulls, he took a few weeks before finally deciding to sign with the Pacers. He hasn't played in a game since Dec. 26 when he was with the Cavaliers.
There was earlier talk that Bynum could debut Friday against the 76ers, though with him cleared to play, he'll make it against the Celtics. While still likely being available to play against the Sixers on Friday, where he of course spent a season on the bench trying out different hairstyles.
On the season, Bynum is averaging 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 24 games.
