Anthony Davis posts 40-point, 21-board showing in win over Celtics
Pelicans forward puts down a monster stat line as an incredible season continues.
Anthony Davis became the 18th player since 1985-86 to post at least 40 points and 20 rebounds with a 40-point, 21-rebound, three-assist, one-steal, three-block performance Sunday vs. the Celtics in a one-point victory.
It did take overtime for him to log it, after Davis and Kris Humphries traded huge shots late in regulation.
But Davis helped take over with his rebounding in overtime, and the Pelicans held on. Of course, the Celtics, who have repeatedly said they are not tanking, were down one with less than 10 seconds, and just didn't foul. I mean ... they just didn't foul.
But the important thing is Davis, who continues to show why he is the future of this league, and the key to any hopes for the Pelicans long-term.
