Cavaliers officially sign guard C.J. Miles

The Cavaliers have made it official with C.J. Miles, announcing the team has agreed to a contract with him.

Miles, 25, has agreed to a reported two-year deal with Cleveland adding some needed backcourt depth after the retirement of Anthony Parker.

“C.J. brings solid NBA experience to the team, yet is still just entering his prime at 25,” said general manager Chris Grant in a release. “His ability to play multiple positions adds depth and flexibility to our roster.”

After a career-year in 2010-11, Miles dropped off significantly as he supposedly clashed some with head coach Tyrone Corbin. He lost his starting job to Gordon Hayward and became largely a spot-up shooter off the bench.

Miles averaged 9.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 20.5 minutes per game in 56 games (14 starts) for the Utah Jazz last season.
