Celtics' Al Horford to miss Bulls, Cavs games because of concussion
The big man is following the NBA's concussion protocol
Boston Celtics big man Al Horford will miss at least two games because he suffered a concussion. The Celtics announced that he would miss Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls, and coach Brad Stevens told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Scott Zolak and Marc Bertrand that Horford will miss Thursday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, too, per CelticsHub's Brian Robb.

According to the team, Horford was hit in the head during Monday's practice. Initially, he did not display concussion symptoms, so he was cleared to participate in Tuesday's practice. Symptoms did appear during that practice, though, so he was immediately put into the NBA's concussion protocol.
This is awful timing for the Celtics, who lost in Chicago last week and want to challenge the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference. There's no good time to be without your best player, though, and there shouldn't be any wiggle room when it comes to dealing with concussions. It happens, and Boston has enough depth to compete in these two games without him.
