The New York Knicks expect for Derrick Rose to return to the team from Los Angeles once his civil trial comes to a conclusion but it sounds like it might be a while before we see the former league MVP back on the hardwood with his teammates.
Following Monday's practice session, Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek made it clear that he isn't just going to hand the offense back over to Rose after the point guard missed a great deal of practice time.

Before deciding against it, Hornacek considered sending an assistant coach to Los Angeles in order to help Rose continue to learn the offense that he had, admittedly, struggled to pick up prior to leaving the team to attend his trial.
While it probably won't keep Rose from being New York's starting point guard on opening night, it seems like Hornacek wants to see the former No. 1 overall pick prove that he's willing to work to make up for the time that he's missed.
