Elfrid Payton thinks he's going to Lakers or Kings
Prospect Elfrid Payton predicted that he'd go No. 7 or No. 8 in Thursday's draft.
Elfrid Payton, the point guard out of Louisiana-Lafayette whose stock has been rising throughout the pre-draft workout process, thinks he's going to be selected No. 7 by the Los Angeles Lakers or No. 8 by the Sacramento Kings, via Andy Katz of ESPN:

Payton has shown an ability to play tough defense and get to the rim, but his shooting ability is suspect. He makes some sense on the Lakers roster given Steve Nash's age, though at No. 7 there will certainly be bigger names available. If the Kings take Payton, it would raise questions about how highly they truly value Isaiah Thomas, who will be a restricted free agent in July.
There's no indication that either team has given him a guarantee, but it's interesting how he's so quickly put himself in the mix for a top-10 selection, when it previously looked like he'd be behind point guards Marcus Smart and Tyler Ennis.
