Eye on Basketball Podcast: Cavs are in a dark, dark place

John Krolik, founding editor of Cavs The Blog, joins the podcast today to discuss what's going on with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs had hope when the season started of getting back to the playoffs in the East. Then they had renewed hope when they traded for Luol Deng in January. Now they just keep sliding down the slope and seemingly have internal problems everywhere. What's wrong with Kyrie Irving and the offense now? How bad is Anthony Bennett? Do Mike Brown and Chris Grant need to go? How do you fix everything?

To liven things, we get into the discussion of LeBron James vs. Kevin Durant for MVP. How is Durant running away with this? What can James do to get the voters back? Do we have a bit of a similar dynamic with what we saw last season before the Miami Heat went on their 27-game winning streak? Can you draw comparisons to how effortless Durant makes this look with how easy Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made it look?

We discuss all of that, plus Dion Waiters as a sixth man, trading Anderson Varejao, and "Starship Troopers 3: Marauder."
