Eye on Basketball Podcast: Kobe's return and league roundup

Matt Moore joins me on this Friday to do a little league roundup before we get to the big news of Kobe Bryant's return to the Los Angeles Lakers this Sunday. Thursday night the New York Knicks managed to blow the Brooklyn Nets out of the water. Do they finally look like themselves again and how sustainable is that kind of play? Should the Nets fire Jason Kidd during this season? Do the Portland Trail Blazers show us that perhaps we should be questioning everybody's schedule and body of work as opposed to just the teams that surprise us? What do we make of the Phoenix Suns?

With Kobe Bryant's return to the Lakers, it's time to start wondering how he'll play and how the team will react to his return. Should we expect him to be great and bounce back from the injury like Dominique Wilkins did? Does this push the Lakers into a playoff lock because of how they'd positioned themselves to still be tight in the race? Will it take Kobe a long time to get acclimated back to the system? How does the West shake out with his return?

We discuss all of this, plus Rajon Rondo trade rumors, the Grizzlies possibly trading Zach Randolph, and preview tonight's games.
